The Ultrasound Pathology Course (9hrs CME)

traumaThe Ultrasound Pathology Course is designed for physicians and midlevel providers who work in the Emergency Department, ICU and acute care settings who have at least basic experience with point of care ultrasound. The purpose of the course is to help physicians and mid level providers recognize common pathologic conditions including: AAA, hydronephrosis, cholelithiasis, intraperitoneal free fluid and pleural effusions. A large part of the course will be dedicated to abnormal cardiac findings including poor and moderately reduced LVEF, RV failure, and common valvular abnormalities. Patient models with each of these pathologic conditions will serve as models for the course and participants will have the opportunity to scan these patients first hand with the help of our expert physicians and sonographers.

The course will take place at the state-of-the-art ultrasound training lab at Volunteer State Community College where both basic and advanced ultrasound equipment will be available. Large TV screens are posted above each scanning station for better visibility during demonstrations. The course will include 4 hours of hands-on scanning with a 4:1 student to instructor ratio.

We will provide breakfast, lunch and snacks. Transportation to and from the course location will be available for those staying at the host hotel in downtown Nashville.
