The Vascular Access Course is designed for anyone involved in vascular access. We cover the basics of ultrasound and line placement with ultrasound and then spend a great deal of time in lab placing lines in multiple different types of phantoms. • Demonstrate the ability to properly operate an ultrasound machine and make adjustments to obtain adequate image quality.
  • Acquire ultrasound images for limited examination of the vascular structures in the neck and limbs for the purpose of placing intravascular catheters.
  • Use ultrasound to facilitate the intravascular placement of catheters.
